For those mastering on open waters! – a self-driven study guide with testing available at classroom locations.
We provide the study guide and FCC (Federal Communication Commission) test for the Marine Radio Operators Permit. The test is available at classroom locations and administration of the test is included in the fee. Our study guide was developed to help you understand the questions and answers, not just to pass a test through memorization. Through our study guide you should obtain knowledge and understanding to pass the test and to the why behind the concepts to make you a better, safer radio operator.
MROPs are required to operate radiotelephone stations aboard certain vessels that sail the Great Lakes, aboard vessels of more than 300 gross tons, greater than 65 feet, and vessels which carry more than six passengers for hire in the open sea or any tidewater area of the United States. This permit is recommended for the Master Captain to be the licensed radio operator on a USCG inspected vessel.
The MROP test will be administered the same date as the OUPV test in the locations listed below. Please click the city below to see the date of the OUPV test. Please select the city where you would like to take your test to add this option to your cart.
